  • Again with the idiot bike riders

Another day, another run-in with a fuckface on a bike (FFOB).

I'm stopped at a red light. It turns green. And yet I cannot proceed, because from my left, here comes FFOB across the intersection, against the red light.

He's just lucky I had been stopped and wasn't coming through the intersection at full speed.

When you run over one of these idiots, it can't be defined as killing a human being...

But enabling 2 to 6 human beings to live!

ah yes however most of them have obviously already donated their brains*

*in mint condition no less as they obviously aren't using it....

Oddly enough I yell a lot while cycling...almost never at cars..usually at the idiots on bikes that are yelling at the cars....because of their own stupid move...stop signs are your friends....signals are a good thing..it's 9pm where are your lights..for that matter where is your helmet...and your pants...*headhandlebars*
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

Bikers and pedestrians do that all the time at the intersection by my house. I can't stand it.

It's also useful to yell at pedestrians who don't consider "checking for traffic" to be a useful thing to do before crossing the street.

One of the best yelling at pedestrian lines I've heard of was to a pregnant jaywalker:

              Screeeeeeeech
"Lady, you can be knocked down too!"

This all reminds me of an old Freak Brothers comic. Phineas had a car with a pathetic horn, so some pedestrians (crossing properly, but taking their time) laugh at him. So he goes home and installs some bastard air-horn that should deafen anyone in range. The next time he gets to that intersection, the pedestrians all laugh and say, "I think I gots to cross me de street," and stroll on into the intersection. The images to represent the horn include a train engine, a fire truck, and a bomb.

Here come the man with the horn what go "Meep Meep". I think I gots to cross the street.

The sound effect was "a recording of a semi load of live hogs locking up it's brakes at 100 MPH".

I do believe the horn went "Bleet, bleet," but I could be mistaken. It's been years since I read the comic. Always been a Phineas fan, tho.

As well as those who choose to ride well after dark on a main road approaching traffic and they're wearing dark clothing and have NO lights on whatsoever. Mom and I saw one such idiot when we decided to sneak out last Saturday night (it was after 11 p.m) to get a Frosty from Wendy's.

Not only did that one already donate his brain elsewhere, he was a two-wheeled Darwin Award candidate. We couldn't see him until he was almost on us.

Thank Dog for headlights is all I can say . . . and the fact that Mom had the car close to the center line instead of in the middle of the lane or else Mom would've have possibly totaled the only vehicle we have running as well as ended up in jail.

That happens in real life. I once had a car with a wimpy horn. I replaced it with a truck horn. It was noticed.

Well I haven't had the chance to fit a surplus pair of horns from a Class 37 to my bike yet, but I did once fit a large headlamp for a trip to Wales where I knew I would need to arrive after dark. It had a 50W overhead-projector bulb in it, and I think people assumed I was a motorcycle! A good thing too, those roads are pretty narrow and steep.

I had one of those on the stretch of road just south of my complex. The only reason I knew there was anyone there at all was because the was a blank spot where I should have been able to see streetlamps from further up the roadway reflecting off the white lane divider paint.

Black man in black shirt and black pants on a dark-colored bike with absolutely zero lights or reflectors. I wish I had an air horn so I could give the guy a bit of a clue as to why the hell he shouldn't do that.
