  • What is it with Motorcycles and Death wishes?

I am driving along yesterday, minding my own business when I come to this little for way stop. Now this is an older part of town and the lanes are very very small, where I am stopped has 2 lanes, 1 for turning left and the other for turning right or going straight...I think there is maybe about 3 feet between an average sized car and the curb.... you get the picture.

There had been a motorcycle behind me ((those of you accustomed to the asshattery of motorcycles lately should know where this is going....)) It was a Harley and thus very hard NOT to notice behind me. However sometime in the 5-10 seconds it took me between me coming to a stop, the car to my left crossing the street and me checking to make sure it was clear for me to go the jerk coasted right next to my car in that little 3 foot gap to turn right. Now LUCKILY I was going straight, but I did not even SEE this guy till I started to move and he started to move at the same time. I ended up stepping on the breaks again because I thought he was pulling out to get in front of me.
I don't know, I guess it's not a HUGE deal since I wasn't turning... but just because I don't have a turn signal on doesn't mean I am not turning ((at least that is what I have learned living in this city))... what if someone turned and ran his ass over??.... just got on my nerves for some reason.

I've had people do this to me when they're in CARS. And I AM turning. And signaling, too!

Some people seem to think that if there's enough space for them to fit that it counts as a lane, even if it's a parking spot, shoulder, sidewalk, etc.
