  • Motorboat versus Compact

Something mildly amusing at the store Tuesday (a bright spot in the day of frustration I posted about over in Cursing out Coworkers). Amusing to me at least, rather ruined someone's day, but, hey, I work in retail, customer's pain is my entertainment.
I got to watch our security video of this and was all
There's a compact (didn't bother to see what kind) in one of our handicap spots. Next to it is a big pick up (at least a three quarter ton instead of the normal half ton) with a boat on a trailer behind it in the space on the row behind it.
Compact driver (rental, luckily for her) is shopping when the pickup driver leaves. He pulls out and turns down the lane just like normal. The only problem is, you can't drive like normal with a trailer, you have an extra set of wheels twice as far behind you as normal. Good bye bumper on the compact, the steel boat trailer ate its for breakfast and shoved the whole car over about a foot.
Our county sheriff's department has our video footage now, what with the guy just driving off and all. Definitely something I didn't expect to see when I went in for that day's insanity.

I have very few pet hates for this time of year. Boats are one of them.

People with boats trying to go through drive thrus and plugging the whole thing up, boats with all kinds of shit in the back and its flinging all over the road as they head back home (especially ROCKS)......I hate boats.
