Not used to being traffic

Self-sighting here. I've been being really good lately and walking in to work. Which is rather nice, because there's a lot of construction on campus. And they aren't flagging properly beside the trucks - they'll have one guy with the sign, and he is supposed to be flagging for both directions. This is a problem, however, when I did hop on my bike to go to work. Now, I SWEAR the flagger didn't have his sign up when I went by this morning, but I was halfway down the line of trucks, and realised that I was supposed to have checked for traffic, because there were cars coming towards me. So there I am, trying to make three lanes (trucks parked on the West, cars travelling South, bikes travelling North) in a two lane road.

There was enough space, because they have the standard lanes for a two-lane road, where each one is 1.5+ car widths, but I really need to remember how they're working the construction here.
