To an extent, I can understand (note: NOT excuse!) why people want to keep momentum or are afraid of slipping/skidding. One wrong move on slippery roads and you are liable to go anywhere but stopping.
But I think it's dangerous, not to mention plain stupid, why there is such an increase of people following me through stop signs this winter.
It can happen any time of year, people are stupid/lazy/in a hurry, but in the winter is when it happens the most. Ever since it started snowing heavily in December and the roads have became slick more often than even halfway clear, it's almost a daily thing.
Nearly every morning at this one stop sign on the way to my folks' place, the person behind me will always follow me through the stop sign if there is a clearing in traffic enough for them to get through.
It upsets me and I am just so baffled. I mean, is keeping your momentum going that important that you'd risk following me no matter what? There have been days here and there where it's been cut close, or the snowbanks have been so high that the view is so horrid that there is no way they can see if anyone is coming before I can.
