The Wonderful Girlfriend and I drove down to Burlington VT for the Easter long weekend. We had an awesome time!! The town is beautiful and the people are incredibly friendly.....as long as you' re not driving anywhere.


Everywhere we went we were tailgated, cut off, and honked at for obeying traffic laws. Is this normal or did we just have bad luck?

I lived in VT for 24 years of my life; I never experienced driving like that. Only time it seemed to get bad was around the holidays, especially in a bottlenecked parking lot! Please don't judge us all though, I'm a very good driver; always let people in front of me and stop for little old ladies in the crosswalk

The problem was that you were in Burlington and that place is not well designed. When I lived there it was entertaining trying to drive cause half of the streets make no sense to the people who live there, let alone to the people visiting and Burlington has lots of visitors as it is one of the bigger cities and places to shop areoung here.

My husband lived in VT until he was 13 and moved to FL-yes, talk about extremes!-and he lived just outside Burlington-anf he says a lot of locals hate tourists. So unfortunately that may have been the problem. I would say you are welcome to visit the Atl-but traffic here is so bad people from LA complain.
