  • This actually worked better than expected.

So this ASSHOLE in a big rig decided to ride my bumper today in heavy traffic. It's not like I could go anywhere, I had a truck that he could plainly see in front of me. No, he just had to show what a big dick he was. And he kept doing it, too. No reason for it other than he wanted to be a bully.

I noticed that with the sun where it was, I could plainly see the drivers of the cars ahead. So I pulled out my phone (which is pretty good size), held it up so he could see it, and started shooting.

He backed right the fuck off immediately when he saw that. Dropped into the fast lane and passed in his haste to get away from me and when he went by, I made sure he saw me shooting up towards the cab. Then I shot the back of the truck, holding the camera so that if he was looking, he'd see it. It's bright purple.

In reality, I shot nothing. It may not have even been on, I dunno, I was holding it for show. I'm not really one to fiddle with anything, phone or radio included, in traffic. I pulled it out of my bag (I don't even have to look at it to do this) and held it up with my free hand. While I wouldn't recommend actually fiddling around with it to shoot while you ought to be driving, Mister Tough Guy didn't know that.

So, yeah. Suck it, bullies. Everyone's got cameras everywhere now. And lawyers.

I'm not sure if someone this dangerously stupid can think, but if he can, maybe he'll think about this next time.

Way to deal with him!!! I've got to remember that the next time a rig wants to get too close for comfort.

When I have more money, I want my car to be fitted with a "dash" cam.

They've got cameras that can be mounted behind the rear-view mirror, and they'll email footage to you when you have any sort of "event" such as sudden braking or swerving. The idea is to teach kids learning how to drive what they're doing wrong and how often they're doing it, but I think it'd be great to help monitor my own bad driving habits, and it has an added advantage that if someone does something in front of me, I'll have it on film.

@ RK: Don't you mean what a small dick he had? Good idea with the camera though, wish I thought of that when I dealt with my asshole.

Cameraphones do not have a strong enough zoom to see objects that small.

I LIKE this. I wish I'd known about it during my long drive to New York and back last weekend.
