  • Just plain bad parking

I had a great deal of difficulty delivering to one of my customers today because of this guy's crappy parking job. It was too dark for me to take a picture, so let me see if I can describe it to you.

This apartment building has recessed stairways. The first floor is downhill from the parking lot, so you go down a few steps to get to those doors, and there are stairs that go up to the second floor. Between the building and the parking lot is a walkway. There's a curb there, though it's a shallow one.

So, this dingbat pulled into his parking space, and then kept going up onto the walkway. He parked in such a way that the stairs/hallway leading to the first floor apts were boxed in by the stairs going up to the next floor, his car, and the side of the building. I had to pretty much climb over the hood of his car to get to my customer's door, since he left maybe half a foot gap between the stair railing and his car. It was scary, too, since I had to wiggle over his car and step down at the same time, and it put me at such a weird angle I couldn't see my step that well. Heaven forbid one of the residents would have to come and go while actually carrying something!

That's the point I'd call the cops & have him towed for blocking the exit. People could die if there was a fire & couldn't get out quickly because of this jerk.

Oh, I hate when people pull so far forward their car overhangs the sidewalk.

Though, it's funny the ones who park by pulling forward until they hit the curb with a big crunch, theen stop. Depth perception anyone?

Even better, we have then pull in, crunch on the curb, stop, go wide-eyed, and back up a bit at the C-store. There are times when they pull in so fast, I almost fear for my life!

I confess, I'm a bad curb-cruncher. I don't have any depth perception! But even I wouldn't park on the curb like this guy did!
