Today I had to leave my car in a hospital car park for about 3 hours while my Mother was admitted. She is 85 and has a bad heart. No news yet, but she's been sick for a couple of years and we hope that she will be OK.

On to the story. This is what my car looks like. I came back after a long wait in the hospital admissions department, got in with my Sister and drove off. I was in a hurry as it was 4:00 PM and I wanted to beat the rush hour. We got onto the freeway and I noticed a piece of paper under the passenger wiper blade.

I had to get off the freeway to pull over, my Sister jumped out and grabbed the paper and showed me. It was written on the back of a McDonald's receipt and said:-
Some lady hit the end of your car 777 XXX (registration number) call 0415 555 555 She just drove off
Not happy. Got home, looked all over the car with a bright light. Felt all the protruding edges for a small dent of some sort - nothing. Not one scratch.

Rang the number. It was two ladies in a very large four wheel drive. The lady driving it was hopeless as there was a very large area for her to reverse out of her parking spot, and instead of turning as she reversed she just backed across and hit my car. The she just drove off. The lady who wrote the note was in hospital for her bad knee and was on crutches. She still tried chasing after the car on her crutches and managed to write down the registration number.

What a nice lady! I went and had another look at my car, as she had described exactly where it was hit. Not a mark. Now I am as happy as I can be, given my Mother's circumstances.

Glad your car wasn't damaged. The hit and run sucks, but at least that lady was nice enough to chase down the tag number for you!

It was on the passenger side... Now I'm not sure.

On second thoughts, look at the attached picture. All the cars around it were black, grey or white. How could they get it so wrong?
