The time was many moons ago, when I was a young buck fresh out of driving school, and enjoying being able to drive by myself.
As luck would have it, I got a job doing parts delivery/customer shuttling for a parts store/mechanic shop. I was driving this cute little Geo Metro. (no pic for reference)
I was driving around town one day, and got to this pretty confusing corner that I had to turn right at.
To kind of explain how the intersection works will take a bit, but bear with me.
There is a main street that runs E-W Intersecting that is a street that runs to the N, and 2 streets on the S side. They run SW and SE. So it's a 5-way intersection. I was heading E and needed to go down the street heading SE.
So I'm coming around the corner, doing about 25-30km, and there was a group of kids standing on the corner. I saw them, and they saw me, and we acknowledged eachother.
But for some reason, that didn't stop one of them from darting out in front of my car when I was maybe 10ft away from them......no crosswalk, walk light. Nothing. Just a good ol' fashioned jay walk. And then he had the nerve to start yelling obscenities at me....
Keep in mind I had only been driving on my own for maybe a month
I had to pull over for about 10 minutes, called my dad scared shitless cause I almost hit them, and could barely talk
Since then my faith in humanity has been shaky at best.
