Okay, let me paint the picture: I am in the right lane of a two-lane ramp that is merging onto a busier road. There is a light at this merge. The light happened to be green during this incident so cars were merrily zipping and merging onto the road.
Suddenly, the two lanes come to a halt. I am only about two cars away from merging. Slooowly, the lanes start inching again. I didn't think much of it until it was my turn.
There was this old lady stomping across the street right in front of me and the car to my left! What's worse, she started stamping the ground like a 2 year old and ranting and raving at each of us before continuing angrily to cross the street. The other car and I were like

In front of a merging lane. WITH A GREEN LIGHT! And the way the street is structured, it's kind of a sharp curve so you can't really see what's on the busier main road until you get there. It's a good thing we all happened to be paying attention!
Also, there was a crosswalk not 10 feet away. IF she had been bothered to walk there and use it.
