  • You're supposed to STOP asshole!

This one happened to me on Sunday at work.

After I pull into the parking lot and park my car I go to enter the building, I'm half way through the crosswalk and this asshole comes zooming by and instead of stopping he just swerves around me and keeps on going. I yell fuck you asshole and flip him off. Did anything like that happen to any of you?

Actually, yeah. It did. Last week inside of fricking SAM'S CLUB with some asshole on a forklift.

I'm glad you posted this, I meant to write about it and post the letter I fired off to Sam's.

Yup. Close enough that I was able to give the backend a good whack with my hand.... hopefully gave the twit something to think about for a while.

Things like red lights, stop signs, yield signs, crosswalks are all suggestions in my neck of the woods. Hell, going slow in a parking lot is almost unheard of.

Last time that happened to me, I elbow dropped their hood. Probably not smart.

Oh yeah, BTDT. Watched a woman get hit in the crosswalk, actually, by one of these selfish, anally-inverted . . . She later died.

I see this a lot while I patrol our parking lots. I usually try to chase the douchebags down and yell at them. The majority seem to have honestly never even noticed that they almost hit someone.

Yep. Seen it. I try and chase them down too (after ensuring that nobody else gets hit).

Okay, that wasn't a case of "close call." It wasn't a case of "distracted driving." That was blatant ATTEMPTED MURDER! He saw you, knew you were there, TOLD you to go in front of him, THEN intentionally hit you. Felony assault with a deadly weapon for starters, attempted manslaughter or even murder-one more likely. (Murder One because he obviously planned to hit you - no matter that the planning was only seconds before the incident.)

I know you were relatively okay, but please tell us that he didn't get away with that...

My guess would be that he did, most likely because in a situation like that, I doubt Kisa or any of us would've had the chance to get his license plate as he sped off. Which is awful because people like that shouldn't be able to get away with it.

Drivers need to chill the heck out and leave earlier rather than at the last possible minute to get somewhere. If it takes you 30 minutes to get somewhere, leave at least 15 minutes earlier because you never know what's going to happen.
This! My commute technically takes 25 minutes if I don't get stuck at too many lights or the railway crossing, but I always make sure I leave with 20 minutes to spare. If nothing else, it gives me time to make a cuppa, have a gossip & boot my computer up before starting work, & in the worst-case scenario & I get stuck at the crossing when the train sits at the station (10 minutes with the barriers down) I'll still get to work on time & get my cuppa.

I was almost a victim of what I think is a pretty bad violation - I had the pedestrian "go" signal, waited for like 3 seconds before walking across (with 17 sec to spare), and still almost got hit by a woman who made a right turn inches in front of me, slammed on the brakes and then she glared at me through her passenger-side window as if I was at fault. It took all my willpower not to grab my house key and slash at her car.

I'm very close to the beach and spend a good bit of time walking down there. We have a fair number or tourist year round and a ton of crosswalks that are plainly marked with signs and lines etc... but you still see people driving through them like they don't exist. The city has even put these dayglo yellow flags out for people to pick up and carry across the street with them. The drivers still don't notice or more likely just dont care.
