  • Motorcyclists. Know your limits.

Else you too can experience the fun of driving into the back of a much larger vehicle than you.

    At 60 miles per hour.

Bear in mind that a fractured femur, probable fractured pelvis, fractured humerus, suspected abdo/thoracic injury and suspected head injury all add up to a whole lot of pain.

It will also cause me to ruin a pair of trousers as I kneel in the puddle of petrol escaping from your fuel tank as I stabilise your neck and airway.
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

What was the guy doing that he hit you like that?!?

I do applaud you helping him, even if he brought that fate upon himself.

Bill him for your pants. Maybe after his close call, he'll be appreciative of the support you provided and will replace them. It's the least he can do after hitting you and you supporting him (not to mention he probably ruined a huge piece of your day).

Hopefully he learned his lesson. If you don't learn your lesson after that, you never will.

My uncle had to learn the hard way, too. He'd been drinking and speeding. He wrecked on a turn and was left in a ditch all night long before someone noticed him. He's in a wheelchair now. If the guy who hit you ever walks again, he should consider himself getting off lucky.

Oh, he didn't crash into me - he crashed into a vehicle about 30sec in front.

I don't have his details to bill him and even if I did I wouldn't, the £30 or so for trousers is going to be small fry considering what he and his family are going through right now.
