idiot old man...

I'm driving home on the interstate with a friend one day and we're just cruising along....in the right lane.

well the car in front of us was struggling to get up this hill we were all climbing, and I tried to switch lanes to get around him.

the old man in the car in the left lane would not have it.

he'd speed up when I'd try and get past him, and when I'd drop speed to get behind him he'd slow down just as much so that no matter what I couldn't get in front or behind him...

we finally crested the hill and the car in front of me who must of seen this entire exchange managed to get enough momentum for me to get around him....

and the old man kept up the speed up and slow down game....for 10 fricking miles!

I don't know what it is about some people on the road. It's like, give them a set of keys and four wheels, and they are complete assholes.

I'm not sure if it's some compulsion about being "first" or getting ashamed of people passing them. What usually happens to me is when a group of cars are passing someone going too slow in the right lane, I'm usually at the end of the pack, and by the time I start getting to it, that person realizes they are going too slow or are now offended, and speed up so I can't get aorund.

Or, people who I have let in to merge, refuse to speed up or slow down and I am stuck in the left lane with people wanting to go 80 mph tailgating me.
