  • another I-91 story

    good times.

so last thursday my mom and i were headed home, driving up 91 north. for a while we were behind the same tractor trailer. its about 3 lanes the whole time we were driving. we were in the middle lane. the truck would start drifting over into the right lane, and then swerve back into the middle. over and over. then we thought it was going to take one of the exits, and last minute decided to come back over. again, its doing the swerving thing. my mom thinks maybe the driver is falling asleep, and i think maybe hes trying to read a map, who knows. i was afraid to pass him because of his erratic driving, so i left good distance between us.

we were approaching a rest area and i thought maybe he would get off there. nope. this continues, he then was in the right lane and was still drifting, and he kept on hitting those "wake up strips" on the side. finally, we got a chance to pass him. as we did we looked up to see wtf was going on...

he was on his cell phone. WTFFFFF idiots!!

I hate hate hate people on their phones! Is it illegal in USA to be on a phone whilst you drive? Me and my sister were in front of a car once (in the uk) on a very accident black spot area that was swerving back and forth because she was on a phone. My sister was driving so I snapped a pic on my mobile and got her license plate number. It's illegal here and I'm not risking my life because of someone else's stupidity.

Most places have laws that have been on the books since the '20s that mandate that your hands are to remain on the steering wheel unless necessary for the safe operation of the vehicle, such as for shifting or signaling. The anti-cellphone laws are stacked on top of laws we already don't enforce.
