I totally just really laughed out loud.

Nope, I'm another who can't stand the taste, although the smell of the beans roasting is lovely.
Same here (like the scent, hate the taste). Give me a nice cup of hot tea instead. Or hot cocoa.

I pity our country if we are ever seriously invaded on our own soil. I mean, who will they complain to about the bad customer service in the prison camps?
An excellent point. We first-worlders have gotten rather spoiled and complacent. It would be good for us to learn how to do more things for ourselves, or to live without luxuries.

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

People can't get up 10 minutes earlier and make a pot at home?
Even worse, I don't think I've even seen a drip model in the last ten years that didn't have an Auto-on function.

I must be the only person in the world who doesn't like coffee.
I don't like it, either. I never understood how people can drink that stuff.

Of course, on the flip side, my dad grew up being given a hot cup of New Orleans-style brew (coffee & chicory, strong enough to sit up and bark), dipping bread into it, as a nine-year-old. He loved the stuff.

I have one semi-regular who decided to freak out on me for having the nerve to have our coffee central area down for cleaning when he wanted his coffee. He decided to curse me out and came in the bitch out my manager too because I had the nerve to tell him 'The coffee central area hasn't been cleaned in a week and a half it was dirty and I need to detail clean it so there is no coffee on currently.' My manager backed me up thank goodness, and I've managed to be 'cleaning' the coffee central area every time he comes in while I'm on shift since. The fact my manager and his boss are both sticklers about clean coffee makers and pots for their coffee guarantees that I can get away with sticking it to the guy by doing that though.

Add me to that not liking coffee list, there are better sources of caffeine than a liquid diuretic IMHO

Fairly sure that caffeine itself is a diuretic. Dunno if coffee has an additional diuretic in it, but soda, tea, or any other caffeine source will still have a diuretic effect.

Addicts are the worst in any crowd. Whether it's cigarettes, alcohol, or caffeine, in my experience when they're sucky they're the most short tempered and entitled bunch you meet, especially on third shift.

My boyfriend isn't too keen on it.

                  He prefers chai.

I prefer coffee and can't stand chai.

Coffee Nazis: My old work place got one of those machines that will make a fresh cup of coffee/tea/chocolate/many others drinks.

Always fresh, always hot. But it is amazing how many stop drinking coffee once they found there were other hot drinks that were just as easy to make.

Race Card: How is his comments not racial insults that he could get arrested for? I hate this from my relatives who will spend hours complaining about how whites are holding they down when all I see holding them is that they are too lazy to get off their butts or in the case of the ones with money how their greed makes them do stupid things.

One cousin had mortgages on 12 houses, when the housing market crashed he lost everything including his home. Notice, he never lost his job/income just he could no longer sell the houses to make back the money he owned on them.

He spends all his time complaining about white bankers, white government, white whatever. What he does not mention if he did not get greedy he more than enough income to handle 3-5 houses. But he had to get greedy and try to flip more houses.

SC: But, this isn't fresh enough
Gee I've let my coffee sit in this mug for 2-3 hours now. it still tastes fine.

frankly I don't see what this "omg it's not fresh" bullshit is about. Unless it's coffee ooze then it's fine. And hell even coffee-ooze isn't that bad once you add a little water to it. (yes i've done that. it was the only coffee available.)

personally i dislike super-fresh coffee anyway (except out of my keurig) cos it's usually too hot to drink anyway

I make a pot of coffee saturday morning. If there are still a couple of cups left by Sunday morning, I turn the pot back on and finish drinking it. Still tastes like coffee to me? Could be different for me, because I like my sugar and cream with a little bit of coffee.

I like my coffee black, hot and preferably fresh cause it just tastes best that way. It's best with super fresh roasted beans too but that is hard to find unless you roast them yourself.

Ages ago I worked in a gas station. In the morning right around 6am we had a huge rush of people. I had about 5 pots of regular coffee and one of decaf. (this is before the mass pot/box of coffee). Sometimes we'd be totally out, all 5 drained. Of course I'm stuck behind the register running that for the smokes..one coffee 2 smokes lol.
So I'd yell, FREE COFFEE IF YOU START ANOTHER POT. They'd change filter, get one setup and start it for me. Yep, gave them a free one. And of course, as soon as the line hushed a bit, I ran over to start more batches. Garrgh. Morning shift. Always have overstock of Marb Reds and Marb Lights and Camels.
