Oh hell You should know better by now than to tempt <diety/-ies> with comments like that...Remember, such beings are easily amused >_>
"For a musician, the SNES sound engine is like using Crayola Crayons. Nobuo Uematsu used Crayola Crayons to paint the Sistine Chapel." - Jeremy Jahns (re: "Dancing Mad") "The difference between an amateur and a master is that the master has failed way more times." - JoCat "Thinking is difficult, therefore let the herd pronounce judgment!" ~ Carl Jung "There's burning bridges, and then there's the lake just to fill it with gasoline." - Wiccy, reddit "Retail is a cruel master, and could very well be the most educational time of many people's lives, in its own twisted way." - me "Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down...tell you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens...makes her a home." - Capt. Confession time: I actually like Comic Sans. AS A PERSONAL THING, NOT IN PROFESSIONAL EMAILS. EVER. Don't hit me....
I once set up an ad for an engineering firm. I didn't choose the font, creative services did; you guess it, they chose Comic Sans. I'd never seen it before. I sent the proof to the customer. He flipped...not in a nasty way but he wanted that changed ASAP. Meh, engineers....But we did as he asked. He was paying, after all.
No lie, my Mom typed up this letter she wanted to send to Dan Snyder (owner of the Washington Redskins), proposing a change to the team name. (Something that'll never ever happen, but whatever.)
Dan Snyder is a self absorbed twit, and the single reason why the 'Skins haven't won a Superbowl since Cooke died.
Seraph; I'm confused. Didn't you get a job offer a couple of months ago? Is this the same job or a new one?
Sorry, haven't had time to be on CS as much lately, so I may have missed something.
They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.

Actually, I like it too ... for silly stuff. But gee, based on this customer's assessment of it as a professional font, I think I'll redo my resume ...
Ditto. It (and similarly styled fonts) are perfect for announcing a children's fete, or a comic-themed party, or a 'silly hat' event.
For something professional: well, yes, if I wanted a seriffed font, I would adore that Trajan Pro. Sleek and stylish.
My go-to fonts are (sans serif) Arial and Helvetica. Big surprise there. I'm also traditional enough that my usual seriffed ones are Courier New and Times New Roman.
Confession time: I have used Papyrus.
Don't kill me! It was for an Egyptian-themed thing, and I had no idea at the time that people had been overusing it. I'd never seen it in use before!
Seshat's self-help guide:
1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Nothing wrong with doing that ^_^ Anyone who expects you to be "perfectly 'professional' " in personal correspondence probably isn't work corresponding with ~ In your own life, on your own time, do what ye like.

My default fonts are Palatino (serif), Gill Sans, and Inconsolata. As a programmer, the latter's unambiguity is very valuable.
Trivia: Gill Sans was designed as a modern signwriting font in the 1930s, and was picked up very early by the LNER - for such mundane things as locomotive numbers as well as signs *intended* for public consumption. They continued to use a different and much older font for the cast nameplates.

More Trivia:
Verdana font was designed specifically for screen reading. At least that's my understanding.
My currently favorite font families are Linux Biolinum (sans serif) and Linux Libertine (serif), they are free (open source), there are several styles, and even a real small caps font.
Both are excellent "bread and butter" font families for running text.
They are OpenType and have all the hints for kerning, plus well designed ligatures.
It's amazing that such high quality font families are free!

However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
Comic Sans is the computer equivalent of writing in crayon. That being said, at my old job, I often used it for signage, but that's because it was a comic book store.
Just like to say hello to everyone and what's going on?
Hello miss, welcome aboard. (There's a forum just for this, btw!)
What's going on is Seraph is a web designer who attracts idjits like rods attract lightning. And a bare mention of the World's Most Maligned Font then sent the thread off the tracks and across the meadow, through the pond, past ol' man McGillicuddie's barn and smack into MyFavoriteFontville.
I'm an Ariel, Century Gothic, or Lucida Sans person myself.
...Contrary to my name, I prefer sans-seraphserif fonts.
When I relate your stories to my hubby, he always refers to your name as if it was "Serif."
"I look at the stars. It's a clear night and the Milky Way seems so near. That's where I'll be going soon. "We are all star stuff." I suddenly remember Delenn's line from Joe's script. Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."
