but the only reason i came here...
so, we have a 300 foot waterslide on the park as one of our attractions. normally it's open every single day, but a couple weeks ago we had BOTH of our certified lifeguards up and quit on us within about a week and a half of each other. que the slide being closed completely for a week, and now that we (after one heck of a mad scramble) actually have one lifeguard, we can't keep it open every day, because we can't have this poor woman work every single day.
now, note that we have a pool, river tubing, kayaking, canoeing, horseshoes, beanbag toss, a panning sluice (kids screen bags of dirt in running water to find semi-precious gems and fossils. it's fun), mini golf, basketball, volleyball, pool table, air hockey, a small arcade, frequent hay ride... and town nearby (only 3-5 miles away) has loads of shops (toys, books, candy, fresh local dairy ice cream, curios, antiques) a fishing museum, a lumberjack show, and a walk-thru petting zoo/safari. there is LOTS to do here.
care to guess how many times these past 2 weeks i've heard some variation of "omg, you should have told me the slide was closed! it's the ONLY REASON WE CAME HERE.we should get a discount!!!" srsly? there's a dang INDOOR waterslide not even an hour north, and a whole dang TOWN devoted to water parks (yes, plural) like 2 hours south. but you came HERE... JUST for our slide? yeaaaahh.....no.
