Since I'm a teeny-tiny guy that gets mistaken for a girl ALL the time (having a feminine name doesn't help) I tend to take a lot of flak for how I look, but I'm used to it. For the past year or so, I've started wearing my hair in an undercut- most of it is long, tied back in a horsetail, but the right side is shaved. For the most part, if I get comments on it at all it's people asking where I got it done (I do it myself), am I going to put patterns in it, stuff like that. However, sometimes I get people like this older dude today:
Me:

SC: Old Cranky McGrump
Me: Hello! Will this be all for today, sir?
SC: Well look at that. You must've banged your head up pretty hard, huh?
Me: Oh, no, I actually cut it like this on purpose, I wasn't injured! (some people have thought I had a head injury that resulted in the necessity of shaving that area, so this I'm not surprised by)
SC: Oh really? Well, it's certainly beautiful. (in the most sarcastic voice ever) Best part is it'll grow back. I bet your mother is just SO PROUD of you and how you choose to let yourself look. So professional.
Me: Well, I wouldn't know, since I don't have a mother! Don't have any family, actually. Been alone pretty much forever. Foster homes and stuff like that aren't much fun, I can tell you.
SC:
Me: Here's your receipt, have a great day sir!
It wouldn't bother me too much, but it's annoying to have so many people judging me based on a single aspect of how I look. I like my hair this way - it looks good on me, it's easy to style (my hair is super thick and curly so something that makes it more manageable is a huge HELL YES) and I just like it. Besides, it's none of their business. It's not nearly as bad as the few weeks I had to wear an eyepatch for medical reasons (if I heard one more person call me 'that pirate kid' or talking like a pirate at me, or trying to pull the freaking thing off my face - yes that happened) but it's still irritating.
Anyone else get stuff like this?
