  • I'll sue you! I'll take all your money!

Things just got a bit more interesting. Lady wanted to check in. She gives me a gift card. I let her know I'll need a card with her actual name for incidentals, but I can still take the nameless card for payment. She asked me how much I needed to hold for incidentals. It's $100 on card or $200 cash. Her attitude changed completely said what I was doing was illegal. She said she's going to talk to her lawyer.

Should I tell her I have my own team of lawyers leaving out the fact that they happen to be named Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice?

She threatened legal action? Now the only people at the hotel/motel who are allowed to talk to her are the legal department - and they don't check people in. Sorry, but she has to find someplace else to stay.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

Agreed, refer to her legal department...assuming she isn't told by a real lawyer that she is full of it.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Even better -- Unless said attorney is on Retainer, it'll cost her $100-200 for them to tell her that it's perfectly legal for the hotel to put a Hold on that $100-200 ^_^

That would be some poetic justice. We only wanted a temporary hold on that $100. The lawyer would claim a permanent hold on it.

But it's the principle of the issue that counts to them. Some people would rather die in a fire than live without their object of affection, for example. Others, like her, would rather waste their life savings on lawyers than use common sense.
