Another SC trying to get out of paying what they owe. This SC claimed that when he'd gotten to the pump, that the £10 of super unleaded was already there. He'd put £30 of regular unleaded in afterwards. My colleague Carl smelt a rat and went to check the cameras. Sure enough, the SC was lying. What had happened was that he'd picked up the super unleaded pump first by mistake. Obviously, he thought we were all born yesterday and that those little balls on the ceiling are there for decoration.

Carl came back and told the SC that he had to pay for both lots.

"Are you calling me a liar?" asked the SC.

Well, yes. In my experience, this statement is only ever spoken by liars. No truthful person ever says it. Carl then proceeded to inform the SC that he'd checked the CCTV cameras and the SC was clearly on there putting both lots in his car, and he had to pay for both lots. The SC wouldn't admit to lying, but paid up.

I once had a customer use the nozzle on the other side of the pump to put about 30 litres into his tank replace the nozzle then put about 5 litres in using the side of the pump next to his car and try to only pay for the small fill.

When we pointed out we had him on CCTV he said he was very tired and he didn't know what he was doing can he have a form to fill in for the other fill as he has no money .

So after we made him wait until someone came and paid for him he then tried to complain we are very expensive I agreed that fuel is expensive if you pay for it.

Pretty much. xD Sometimes, I think that customers assume that we work on the honour system. Haven't they ever heard of CCTV?
