    Had a caller today who wanted to complain about an advertiser. Said advertiser was running a couple of ads for some electronic equipment at a very cheap price. Caller claims that he asked her "How much are you looking to spend?" and she told him, well, your ad says $XX.

    According to her, he then said, "F*** you old hag, go s**k a d**k!" and he hung up.

    I was sympathetic and told her I'd let management know. I was just a TINY bit suspicious of her story because, for an older lady, she rattled off the swear words without any sign of being embarrassed or upset.

    So "Admin Alice", one of our admin people, tried calling the advertiser on her cell. After what sounded like a fumbled try at answering the phone, he did pick up and speak to "Alice." Told her he was sorry about the initial answer but he'd had several weird calls and thought "it was her calling again, she keeps calling!" He was perfectly nice and polite to Alice.

    So it seems as though Caller Lady was actually the trouble-maker here. Can't be sure of course. Is there a lot of WEIRD in the air lately or what?

      Would you believe she called us back today? Gave the same story to my CW "Betty", same nasty language, etc. Definitely something fishy going on. If it happened at all, why keep calling the guy back and then calling us?? Stop calling him! Move on with your life!

      She called a third time, too, but wouldn't give us her name or number (Alice was going to call her to see if she could help, though I don't know what she thought she could do.)

      I think I figured it out though. This nutcase is getting off on calling us and repeating the vulgarities.

        I'm pretty sure that's it. Any chance you've got a severe-voiced supervisor who can politely but firmly tell this hag to stop being such a brat?

          Sadly, no

          We may have scared her off when we asked for name and phone number. She didn't call back today.
