I don't understand what the big issue about showing IDs is, either. Although, once I went to a local convenience store and bought two sodas, two cookies, and a loaf of bread, and the cashier asked me for an ID. I asked (nicely), "Do I really need an ID for this?" He looked at my purchases, then said, "Sorry. Automatic pilot."

Lol, I did something similar a little while ago. I suffer from insomnia and at that point, was existing on a few hours sleep and caffeine. A customer asked me for smokes, I automatically asked him for ID. He began to laugh and I realised that I had just asked a guy who was at least sixty for ID cuz of being on autopilot. I apologised and explained the situation, he just told me not to worry and insisted on showing me his driving license. Yep, he was well over eighteen. XD
