  • Industrial grade entitlement/scammer

    with a side of the race card being pulled.

    This story starts on Monday.

    Male Customer at a hotel places an order. Changes mind several times. Finally settles on a large pizza some sides and a box deal and pays with a CC. Order is made. 5 minutes later customer calls in to cancel part of the order (the box deal). CC is adjusted and the customer is advised that the "refund" will take 3 - 5 (maybe 7) days to appear on their card (this is the weird banking system we have in the US --- it comes out immediately but a refund will take days).

    Order is delivered though the "couple" is acting strangely. This is important later

    On Tuesday and Wed. the female of the pair calls up screaming that her "adjustment" has NOT COME THROUGHT yet. Nothing we can do about it as it is in the banking system.

    STRIKE 1

    GM alerts the area manager about the situation.

    Tonight the "customer" calls up wondering where his "refund" is AND is now claiming they NEVER RECEIVED THE ORDER from Monday. GM confirms the order was made AND delivered and who it was delivered by and cashed out on Monday. The GM and the guy go back and forth for a while AND keeping with the fucked up policies of my pizza company they get a free pizza for some reason.

    The customer then says the following to the GM

    "WELL I am BLACK (which he was) and you are white (yes the GM is white) AND it is Black History Month I THINK YOU OWE ME a BIG discount and several orders with HEAVY discounts or FREE."

    WHAAAAAAAAAA HUHHHHHH??????????

    STRIKE 2

    This goes WAY beyond a BSOD when I heard this story

    I get to delivery the order and the guy could NOT EVEN get his address correct. I notice the address is NOT a valid address for the street. I call and get the correct address.

    STRIKE 3

    Unbelieveable

    There is a possible fun ending to this story but I would not rather post it at this time as time will tell what happens and I will wait until something concrete happens

      At the pizza place where I used to work -- In my experience, yes. It basically took an act of <PizzaDiety> to get a customer banned. Yes, even the ones who would place an order, call back a week later with complaints (because there's no way to verify or dispute them now), get free cards sent to them...place a free order 2 weeks later and a paid one 2 weeks after that...call in a complaint in a week and get more free cards....etc. Like clockwork. Even these scammers, who would never pay for food without getting a 200% refund or more, were somehow safe from the banhammer. All in the name of "Every customer is worth keeping." Bull shit.

        Wow, that's some serious entitlement right there.

        Yeah, refunds are a pain, no matter what industry. What people don't understand is that when we take your money, it doesn't actually land in our account immediately. The system dings the bank, which puts a hold on the money; then the money comes out, often the next day, but sometimes not for a day or two more. I've seen this on my own bank statements.

        So when we process a refund, first we have to make sure your money actually came to us, before we can give it back to you.
        When you start at zero, everything's progress.

          This is the current mentality of most of the major pizza places that I know of. Most of the times WE KNOW they are scamming us and a lot of times can prove it BUT franchise/corp. policy is just throw free shit at them no questions asked.

            It'd be nifty to have someone of every 'disadvantaged' group on every shift, just so when someone pulls the race card you can send an equally-or-greater 'disadvantaged' driver.

            Putting disadvantaged in quotes here because some people misuse the disadvantage. As seen in the OP.

            Now I'm imagining a flamboyantly LGBTIQ multi-racial driver with a visible disability, wearing a holy symbol of a 'minority' religion, and ethnicity-specific clothing.

                  Some people (my step-dad for example) will order a pizza with a bunch of toppings, plus some sides, and pay full price. They are the ones carrying the scammers. I'm not even a factor since the last time I ate out was... I guess when my mom visited in December. It's annoying, when I see how much people steal at my work, and I think about how honest people are essentially paying for that.

                    Yes it is, but unfortunately, you have to have an absolutely airtight case against a scammer to prosecute them, so they get away with their crap time and time again.

                            can I use my kids in 4 generations they have Asian, Negro, Pacific Islander, Irish and Scott. If we go further back probably Aboriginal.
