  • That's right, you AREN'T ever coming back here!

Every time someone on here says "And then they said the were never coming back in here!" I think of this.

I have friends who work selling stuff on the Ren faire circuit. They were in New York when they got this one customer that was driving one of my friends nuts. I don't remember the details, but she was really sucking, to hear my friend tell it.

She was trying to get a discount, and kept whining and complaining that she was not being accomodated, and if my friend wanted her money, she'd have to give better service than that.

So my friend opened the till, pulled out a 20, handed it to the SC, and said, "There. Go away. Not only am I not willing to kiss your ass for a couple bucks, but I want you gone so bad I'm willing to pay you to leave. Take a hike."

That's what's nice about working for yourself in that kind of environment. These people make a craft, then get on the road and sell it. No boss, no overhead, no building. I guess this dumb broad thought she was in Wal Mart.

That is awesome! If you only knew how badly I want to do that to some of my customers. Although the fact that you post here means you probably know exactly how badly!

I had a manager when I worked at Budget that told a lady, "You're damn straight you're never renting here again! Now get your triflin' *ss out of here before I call the cops on you. " The woman was screaming her head off about a difference in maybe three dollars between the total quoted by travelocity and her actual final total. By the time my manager got involved, she was almost laying on the counter so she could put her finger in my face, and all over three bucks. I mean, I can see questioning why the difference existed, but how many times do I need to show someone the fine print on their confirmation page that says, "final total may vary due to location-specific fees, taxes and surcharges?" It was truly one of my all-time favorite moments in customer service.
Dips: The best karma happens when you let a jerk bash themselves senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.

It's truly amazing how little money it takes for a person to sell any semblance of being a decent person.

Well, my friends all worked at Kinko's the first time I worked there. They quit to be craftsmen and artists full time. Nice!

In my social scene, EVERYBODY has either worked at Kinko's, been married to someone who has worked at Kinko's, or works there now.

So, yeah, this story went over real well with us, for the obvious reasons!

I bow down before your friend.

I wish I could do that, and get away with it!!!!!! That would be worth EVERY penny!!!!!!!!!!

I'd have thought a quarter would have been more demeaning.

In our business (jewelry), the owner always says, "Sometimes it would cost you less, to hand them a 100 bucks, than to try to deal with them."

It is so true, I am glad someone had the nerve to do it.

Ironically, it WAS jewelry. My friends make handmade jewelry in the ancient viking, roman, and celtic style, and replicas of artifact jewelry.

If I remember the story correctly, the item the woman was being a pain over cost around 20 bucks. I think my friend was trying to illustrate how 20 bucks was not something she was willing to kiss ass over, and that the woman needed to stop acting like it was.

I do not remember if the woman actually did take the money. She might not have, but she did leave. I'll have to ask my friend next time I see her.

That must have been satisfying enough to be worth every penny.

That is just way to funny, it figures it would be jewelry.
