Love it. I hope that taught him a lesson.
course if he got his money back it wouldnt.

I hated working sunday mornings at Winn Dixie
7:01am, guy buys a sunday paper. total 1.59 USD (tax) with a $100
7:02am, call office to restock my cash drawer
7:03am, customer number 2. again, big bill, small order.
    7:04am, get more change

repeat til 8, not busy, but every darn customer was that way.

Til the office clerk told me to stop accepting hundreds, because the banks were closed, and if we didnt get change, wed have to close early.

I loved telling people we couldnt break the 100,

Why risk your life carrying so much in cash? You never know what might happen.
I carry cash because I like having people think I'm a stripper.

Seriously, I don't know WHY I carry cash. Mostly 20s and under, though.

Some people just can't have credit cards, or they refuse to get them. I found that the older the customer was, the less likely he/she would have a credit card, although there were more older women with credit cards (as rare as it was) then men.

I keep carrying cash on me mainly because I've yet to get into the habit of regulary depositing my money in the bank, yet I just don't want to get Direct Deposit so that I can always have something on me without having to continue withdrawing (I honestly despise using my card offline). Bah, I know it's the brightest thing to do, I'm just forgetful!

I carry cash because its what gets stuffed in my kilt at my other job.

Actually I just carry it because its much less of a hassle then using debit or credit for something. It urks me when I see some monkey boy at 7/11 paying for 50 cents worth of candy with his bank card. Dude, the surcharge probably cost as much as your candy. =p

I only use $100's to pay my rent or purchase computer equipment. Hell I feel guilty if I'm forced to break a $50 at 7/11. I start picking up things I don't really need just to try and hit the $20 mark. Well, I don't need shaving cream yet....but I will 2 weeks.

My problem is that the track will pay people with $20s, $50s, and $100s when they win bets. So when they decide to celebrate by buying a beer or two, they pay with that brand new $100. Great, nothing like giving out $94.50 or $89 in change with only $10s, $5s, and $1s.

Don't forget, some folks who pay with $100s are trying to pass counterfeit bills and get legit money. If you must take a $100, know how to check it. http://www.secretservice.gov/know_your_money.shtml

The counterfeit-detecting pens are nearly useless. Knowing what's on a real bill is a better indicator.

I'm sorry, there really is no reason for them. If whatever you are buying is that expensive, use a credit/debit/bacnk card. Why risk your life carrying so much in cash? You never know what might happen.
Actually, there are still reasons to carry large sums of money. Including (but not limited to) the purchase of money orders, which cannot be done with a check or bank card, and is often much more expensive at the bank than at a store. Having started a lease on an apartment just a few months ago, I know all about how much fun it is to try to get money orders when you don't normally carry cash, since the deposit can only be paid with either a money order or a cashiers check only.

I never liked $100s. I remember when I worked a women's basketball game the 5th guy I got, a stereotype ganger banger pulls in. When I say stereotype, he had the diamond earrings, a black SUV with tinted windows, and the works. The first thing he pulls out is a $100.

Also, don't you hate it when you can obviously see a numerous amount of $5s and $10s and they always seem to go for the $100?

That irks me to no end. Don't you dare go shuffling through your 5 and 10 dollar bills just so you can hand me a $100 bill with this sick evil grin on your face cause you know if i can make the change, i can't deny you the use of that $100 bill.

To be fair, I think Bella was wondering why people make a huge habit of carrying hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on their person and take every opportunity to wave it around... I responded to her the way I did, because I think that as my sister, she would've found it funny...

                          Anyhoo...

I have direct deposit, and every few weeks I go to the bank and withdraw approx. a week's pay worth of cash. It can be tedious sometimes, but overall it works out well.

I feel bad when using a $20 when I buy a doughnut and coffee at Tim's. Even though I know that they surely have tons of change by the time I get there in the morning.

Oh... I do use my debit card whenever possible, even for small purchases, as I pay for a flat-fee for unlimited use. I only use cash at places that don't use debit.

Being a kiosk, we don't have a safe. If we need change, we have to go to the bank. That being said, if someone tries to pay with a $100, I've refused the sale before if I didn't have enough change. Our drawer starts w/ $150 in it, $300 at Christmas time. I'll only break it, if I have the change, if the customer is spending $50+
