We have to offer magazines at our tillpoint. They cost £1.50, this is the CHEAPEST health magazine you'll find with this much info, all the others I've see are £3 or more for half the size. It's not a store magazine- which are usually free- but it is a magazine sold exclusively in our stores, if that makes sense.
Everytime I ask 'Would you like to buy a copy of the magazine for £1.50?' and I must be mumbling or something, as they never hear the £1.50 bit.
'Is it free?'
'No, it's £1.50'.
ANd the resulting comment will be something along the lines of
'Nah, I don't want it if it's not free.... hahahahahah!'
Sometimes we get really horrible people whoa re rude to us about it. I'd like to see them complain to management about us doing what management want us to do, and have said that to a customer before.
'I'm going to complain to your managers about you asking me if I want this stupid *expeltive*ing magazine!'
'If you feel that's best sir, they are, after all, the ones asking me to offer it to you'.
