  • DON'T. TOUCH. ME.

I LOATHE being touched by strangers. I don't mind being hugged or touched by people I know, but by strangers- no. It makes me really uncomfortable, and makes me want to hurt people who do it.

SO I hate the 'grabby' customers./ They're usually quite nice, talking to them is lovely, they're friendly, you laugh and joke a little, things are good- but they decide on the basis of that five minute friendliness to touch your arm, or put an arm around your shoulder, or grab your hand- NO! I am at work, I need my personal space, stop grabbing at me like an insecure child.

I don't tend to mind sooo much in a social situation, but there still has to be a getting to know them period.

(I didn't mind when my boy did it on our first meeting though, but that may have been because my legs felt like liquid when he smiled.)

I am the same way myself. I am very uncomfortable with people putting their arms around me or patting my shoulder. I once had a guest come up behind me and poke me in the center of my back in order to get my attention. One thing about me, I hate people coming up behind me, especially if I get startled. It took every ounce of work ethic and self-control not to just start yelling at her.

I would have elbowed the customer in the face, then said "Oops, sorry. You should not have poked me, it startled me."

I haved nearly punched a customer because they came up behind me and grabbed my elbow, and it set off my immediate violence reaction. Little Old Lady was lucky I bit it down in time.
