Had a good one yesterday. It was a rough day in retail, since our systems took turns crashing quite literally all day long. A critical piece of the pie would go down one at a time and IT seemed helpless to stop the train wreck, so we were doing our best with what resources we had and from experience I know we were actually doing quite well. One man whoever, believed his time was far too precious.
Me = As usual
CS = Idiot Customer
RC = Fellow rep
**The RC calls the CS up, takes about a minute to get his information from him.**
RC: Hey *****, the rebate page went down again can you help me find what discount he should be eligible for?
Me: Sure, just let me finish up with this customer I'm just doing his phone book transfer.
RC: Okay, thanks!
**Literally about 45 seconds go by while I finish up and it begins...**
CS: I don't have time to wait this is taking too long. Let me talk to your manager.
RC: *****, ?
Me: Ya ok *****. How can I help you sir?
CS: What is taking so long?
Me: As she told you we're having problems with our systems today, so we're having to do our research to determine your rebate. Let me give these phones back to my customers then we'll figure it out for you.
CS: I don't have time for this. *Leaves*
Me: *Shrugs and gives his phones back to his customers*
CS: *Comes back in* Get all your research together have the phone ready then I'll come get it.
Me: We need you here while we do all of that, to agree to the Terms of Service, sign the contract, and pay for the phone.
CS: I'm too busy.
Me: Sir, we can help you but it'll take a few minutes to get the information together and if you want us to help you you'll need to wait.
CS: I don't have time for this bulllshit.
Me: If you don't have time for me to do my job, then we can't help you.
CS: Fine, I'll go somewhere else.
Me:
Apparently he didn't have time to wait for us to help him, but he had time to drive to a store 25 minutes away. There, they found it was not his name on the account and he was unable to verify the account password so he wouldn't have been able to sign the contract anyway, making our whole argument even more pointless.
