    Please do Jester! I would definitely frequent your bar here in Arizona. Tucson could definitely use a great bar like that. There are some good ones, but nothing spectacular like that.

    Only thing is, Tucson is a college town, so as long as you won't take crap from anyone, it shouldn't be an issue.

      re: the canadians coming over to the states to shop... i can believe it... i mean, Utahns go to idaho to shop all the time... lotto tickets... and we'll always make runs over to wendover to gamble, even though for everyone in weber county or north can make to the indian reservations in idaho quicker... everyone "knows" nevada is better to gamble (which is probably why canadians shop in the US... because they "know" it's better).

      and no, i don't know what the point of that post was either, but it's slow at work and i'm bored.

        Oh, and i just had a customer that is similar to the after cancellation customer... only not.
        Our extended stay properties front desks close at 11pm (local). And I feel good, I just hung up on a guest that started yelling about how if he had wanted to talk to central he would have called central. When I explained that there wasn't anyone at the hotel except the emergency maintanence person and he doesn't answer phones he made the mistake of using a profanity, so, i hung up on him... and the beautiful thing... as long as i take 2 minutes to fill out an abusive caller form (he used profanities, so I can fill one out) I can't get in trouble for hanging up on him.

          As a Canadian, I am not offended by how horrible Canadians are being portrayed in this thread a) because on the ships people referred to the passengers as "Those damn obnoxious, self-centred, self-serving Americans"

          and b) Working now in Retail in a store that matches prices in southern Ontario, I get a lot of "Well, it's x amount of dollars in the states, you should match that price, otherwise I'll just go there."

          I've tried to make it clear to these people about several things:
          1) If you buy a camera in America, your warranty is only good in America. Therefore, if you have an issue with your product in Canada, you can't bring it to my store for manufacturer guarantees, you have to take another delightful trip south.
          2) If it looks too good to be true, it probably is... if it's significantly lower priced, it's likely after-market and therefore there isn't even a warranty to cover your ass.
          3) Circulating Canadian money in America is BAD FOR THE ECONOMY. Money comes in here, money goes out there, not good. Also, if enough of you fools do this smart stuff, you eliminate jobs in Canada, and then the unemployment rate, quickly followed by the poverty rate goes up. Then it's you fools that are the first to complain that the government isn't doing enough.
          4) Isn't that little bit more money (and trust me, it really is a little bit of money when you break it down) worth the convenience factor of us being down the street, furthermore, isn't me spending the last hour and a half explaining the product to you worth anything to you in the end?

          Sorry, bit of an unrelated rant, but we were talking about idiot Canadians, and Canada does have it's share of them really...

            i still don understand how ten dollars (for customs and tax) would make you cancel a makeup order. I mean its already 79% cheaper than in retail locations, its got to be way cheaper than pay the canadian tax you usually pay on it cause hell you pay less than the californians and come on this the make up that is suppose to be expense but good.

Boy, was he upset when he saw what reps were noting about him.

                I have read so many threads and posts and it always seems the same. It is many of the minorities that make the claim that you are a racist because you won't give in to them and break the rules that other people would have to follow. Before I reserve any hotel room, I always read it very carefully about their cancelation policies, and I even print out a copy of it to be safe. Only one time did I have to cancel a hotel after the policy, and the chain was nice enough to do it due to family circumstances. They at first would not do it, but I think they did so because of my politeness and patience in explaining the situation.

                  2 things, one I love utah, because here we're allowed to record all calls... and the beautiful part, only one of the 2 participants needs to know it is being recorded.
                  Second, I think you are the type of person I like to work with. If the person is patient and tries to explain why they need to cancel, I still can't cancel it, but I can at least point them in the right direction on how to file an appeal with guest relations. Now, if the person starts spouting off about how cancellation penalties are bullshit and how dare we (oddly enough this happens most often at the locations that allow day of cancellations) only give him until 6PM on the day of arrival to cancel. In that guests case, I'm going to be a rock and stick it to them.

                  Side note to all people on the board, not just greensinestro, yes, please do print out your confirmation email, please keep your confirmation email, please accept a confirmation email. I cannot stress this enough, especially if you make your reservation 9 months in advance. Hotels reserve the right to change their cancellation deadlines at any time due to special events and if at the time you reserved you were told 24hour advance hold onto that confirmation like your life depends on it, because that is what guest relations will need you to provide to prove that you reserved before it was changed to 7 days in advance due to special event!

                    First of all, thank you for the compliment there. Secondly, I see what you're saying but I'm sure there are hotel chains that have the spineless manager who gives in to these asshats. With me, I usually try to stay at the hotel that allows same day before 6pm cancelations, and I never get one of those deals where if you do it for days or weeks in advance, you are still screwed if your plans change. People should know what they're getting into being the policy is listed there in black and white. And again, that is why you should print a copy of your reservation and e-mail confirmation, for those that use the internet.
