    Thread Ressurection

    As I've mentioned in another thread, I'm reading over the older threads out of amusement, and most of them are closed... but I just had to make a comment on this one.

    Thread titled Confusion Incarnate by Phone Jockey:

    Customer: The time is on my box again.
    Me: OK.
    Customer: It says 00:00.
    Me: That’s the time?
    Customer: Yes.
    Me: No, it’s not.
    Customer: Oh. No, it’s not.

    My reply:

    *jedi hand wave* This is not the time that it is displaying.

    Hehehe, I've been doing that a lot recently too (being unemployed seems to give you a lot a free time...imagine that!).

    I feel like you could tell this person anything and they'd be like, "Oh ok!" *skip merrily along believing everything they are told*

      Closed as in locked? Or they're just so old that you can't reply in them any more? Because if they were locked, they were usually locked for a reason.

        For some reason, (it appears that) threads that are a certain age become locked after a while.

            And yes, it's because they're so old that they're closed. At least, this one was.

                  How To Be A Necroposter

                  First of all Spears and Helmets are for The Flame Guardians of the Firewall. (<pissed Flame Guardian)
                  To Be A Necroposter You Need:
                  The Cloak of Missing Data (so no one can find you)
                  The Backspace Staff (to travel to before the post was locked)
                  The Security Suit (a gift from Lord McAfee for protection)
                  The Code Book of the Web (your "spell book")
                  Before you can be a true Necroposter you must have the blessings of.....
                  (dramatic pause for effect)
                  The MODS!
                  You must complete a different task for three MODS and earn their blessings on your Quest to release the Locked Threads.
                  You must then travel to
                  Lord Rapscalion and prove that you are worthy to recieve..
                  (another dramatic pause)...
                  The Key of Unlocking!
                  Only then will you be a true Necroposter!!

                      In theory, no.

                      However, we would get some people resurrecting 4 and 5 month old threads, just two add their two cents or just to pick a fight with someone else in that thread--even if the original thread was been fairly mundane and typical.

                        Hmm.. thanks for clarifying a bit. I'm still fairly new at this, my first "serious" forum, involving posting and all that. I just thought it was funny is all.

                        I'll stop then. I apologize if it annoyed or upset anyone.

                              No, first you must cut down the tallest tree in the forest... wiiiittthhh... a herring!

                              I love that film, and the Lego sequence is brilliant. There's also a usermade version in Lego, of the French Taunter floating around youtube.
