  • No gas station SC stories????

With gas prices here approaching European prices past $3.00 a gallon now I'm surprised I havent seen any here posted. I mean, didnt you know that harassing and/or threatening with death your local gas station clerk will make the prices go down???? It's been working for 5 years now and as a result gas now costs 3 times what is was 5 years ago.

they may not always relate to gas purchases, but blashphemy's threads always have some great stories of the garbage she put up with; check some of those out, you'll get a slice of americana, ala hillbilly style.

she has escaped that horror, fortunately, and has newer employment in a better place.
    look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

I'd just love to be there to smart off to one of those idiots. "Yeah I punched out five gas station cashiers last year and gas prices plunged from $2.50 all the way up to $3.06. Idiot!"

Ah yes, Vinegar Boy. I still say the kid thought the word 'Malt' ment it was a Malt Beverage. Even stupider than getting drunk on nyquil... at least that WORKS!

It's in the War Stories category, well worth the read, probably the best of the War Stories, IMHO. Although a non-war story, the Vitamin grades story, comes close!

              Erm...$3 a gallon?

              Try nearly $7.

              $2 = £1, approximately.
              Petrol prices = almost £1 a litre.
              1 gallon = approx. 3.5 litres.
              Therefore: 1 gallon = £3.50. Into $ = $6.60 approx.

About the only stories I have from a gas station, one comes from my brother. Though, it's not a SC story so much as a ST (stupid thief).

One day, my bro comes into work only to find the front glass of his store shattered, and a big metal box with a logging chain wrapped around it lying in the parking lot.

As best they could figure (given the tapes and such) was that some thieves decided to steal the ATM. So they broke the window, wrapped a chain around the first thing they came to and yanked on it. A moment later, one guy came back in screen, looked around and began to cuss before they left. Why? They'd accidentally snatched the mexican phone card machine out instead of the ATM.

Mine though, came late one night.

I had a woman who didn't have ID on her. But, she had her birth cert with her. Yeah, I can take that. Stupidly, I asked her why she was carrying that around, to which she replied. "I start my job as a stripper today." I laughed it off and said "yeah? Prove it." (not my brightest move) to which she steps back and lifts her shirt, bra and gives a nice bounce. I'm not sure if I gave her the right change after that, but my manager assured me the till came out right. Though, he did agree that the blood must have left my brain since he found the toilet paper stocked in the drink cooler. I'd even managed to get it to fit in the slides.

One of the stores I was transferred to was a gas station. I don't really have anything too horrific, except in the two full weeks that I worked there we had one drive-off EVERYDAY. Sometimes we had three a day. We did our best to watch, but sometimes it got so slammed that if we weren't serving the customers instead of watching the tanks that the customers would harrass me into serving them to get them to stfu. I mean, I wasn't the only one there and there was one other person at the cash register.

On January 1st of this year I put out signs that no one was allowed to do pay later. They had to use their credit cards or prepay, no exceptions. The stupid dumbfucks would stand out there and glare at us holding the pump. And when they pull up the pump the register makes a huge racket, and I think they know it annoys us. Then I would tell them over the microphone that they had to do prepay because we weren't going to deal with anymore theft.

Don't these people realize that the more gas they steal, the higher the prices go? Gas was pretty cheap back in the winter, but that's still about $26 for each purchase, and that fatally adds up at the end of the week.

We did catch some of those people, and it's nice because they get an extremely high fine.

No one's ever yelled at us for the prices, though. I think it's a mutual understanding that nobody can do anything about it.

I know that gas prices are sky high in NZ right now to (and everywhere) around $1.60 a litre which is $5.60 a gallon

The petrol stations actually went on a news show and asked people to stop abusing clerks at the stations and BP in Auckland put up signs (at least in my part of the city) saying "Attendants do not set petrol prices" This is back in like Jan/Feb

The local Mobil actually had a big board with the licence plate numbers of drive offs and how much they owed on their frontage to the main road

                      it was crazy!!

I think that's a rather good idea! Can they add a description of the vehicle and/or driver, too?

I wonder if I could get the stations around here to start doing that.
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.

Yeah but at least the extra money you pay for gas gets to go toward free health care and other public services. We get NOTHING in return for paying those kind of prices. Our government currently insists that our eCONomy is going sooooo great and there's so many jobs available that we can handle pretty much anything this eCONomy throws at us and still have enough extra cash to throw around.
