Why is it always the same crap? Person calls to ask about rates YET has the rates in front of them online, then, when there is a discrepancy, its a battle of "Well its cheaper online, can't you do that price?".
The problem I have is that this so called cheaper online rate is never for the correct day. Too many times do people go online, put in the current date (usually a weekday) and look over at the rates. They then call and ask for the rates on the weekend, of course the rates are higher, and its back to "but its cheaper online, can't you match it?". Oh I wish I can tell them PUT IN THE CORRECT DATE, THOSE ARE THE WEEKDAY RATES!
What I don't understand is why they are wasting time calling me, and then arguing with me on the phone when they have the damn info in front of them on the computer! Going online to book a room is for convenience, how is bothering me on the phone convenient?
Fact of the matter, is that these people usually know that they are looking at the wrong rates, but want to try and get a hotel employee to give them the room at the lower rate with "SC Trickery". Nearly 10 years in hospitality should tell you I am on to your tactics buddy, "thou ain't smarter than I"
end rant.
