Okay, everyone knows the line. "I got away with it before, it's BS that you're not letting me now!"
And I just got it from this whiny girl who complained that she was assessed a $250 fine for having candles in her room. That's strictly prohibited, whether they've been lit or not. There's a long list of stuff we can't have in our rooms, but candles are one of the things that actually gets you a fine.
Apparently it's either a new rule or BS (despite it being neither) because she had candles in her room last year and no one said anything! Also, this fine is a couple weeks old by this point because she couldn't be bothered to check her mail. So I really doubt the person she has to talk to is going to be swayed. I told the girl "It's not a new rule, and it's in the handbook. The fine's valid, and it isn't going to be reversed. But if you really wanna contest it, you've gotta talk to J." (Who is notoriously anti-BS. If this girl pulls attitude, she's likely to get slapped with a few more fines/infractions)
She goes off, without even asking when she can talk to J or anything. This is what I get for covering someone's lunch break.
