Around here (which is not MASS)....you have to go east bound to go west, on certain parts of the interstate.
you are = you're. not "your".

utah is worse... i have a coworker who lives about 2 miles east of me, we both have addresses on xxxx south... you would think that I could just head off east down the road I live on and get to her house... nope, we don't actually live on the same road, they just both have the same number (because both are the same distance south of Temple Square... thank you Utah grid system).

... and then there is the city my mother lives in, they seriously have the intersection of Meadowood Cir and Meadwood Cir (yes, the road intersects itself).

If I'm not mistaken, the northernmost part of I-93 (in Vermont) is the same way for a short distance!

What's even more sad is the fact that I know my way around parts of Massachusetts but the locals can't seem to find their way around. Then again, I grew up in New England, where most roads and general directions don't make much sense anyway, so I'm quite used to it.
Suddenly, Vermont became the epicenter of the dystopia.

And thank you for doing that. I hate it when I've been waiting patiently in line and have to wait even longer because some impatient tool rushes in to throw down their cash and blurt out "20 on the blue car" and they get taken care of immediately. (I don't say anything to the cashier about it though, I figure they're doing their best to balance the line, the pumps, the SCs etc. )

There's a neighborhood in my old town where every street is Dogwood. Dogwood Terrace, Lane, Drive, Avenue, Court..... the list goes on & on. We had to walk it to get from the Jr. High to the field where we had track practice. To this day, I can get turned around in there.

I've seen (didn't have my camera, unfortunately) an East West Street, and I've also been driving along I77 southbound and suddenly found myself on I81 northbound. Pulling out of the Flying J near Lansing is also fun - if you were going west on I69 and want to keep going, you need I69 south (the other 3 options are I69 east, I96 east, and I96 west).
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson is annoying. I-10 West is actually heading north. I-10 East is actually heading south. If you're not a desert dweller, it probably gets very confusing.....

Sounds like Phoenix. Roads are interrupted and then continue later. Sometimes it's a mountain in their way. Sometimes they just stop. But a little further on down the line, they continue. This is somewhat confusing to newcomers.

More confusing to newcomers is the fact that roads will often change names as you drive along them. MAJOR roads. Rural becomes Scottsdale, Dunlap becomes Olive, McClintock becomes Hayden, etc. Heck, don't get me started on driving in Phoenix....it is one of the most logically laid out cities I have ever driven in, but the oddities that are there are just screwy, and seem even screwier BECAUSE of how logically the place is overall!

The street that my Dad lives on does the same thing.. The road is about a 1/2 mile circle, that has only 1 street connecting to it.

In all honesty, if you are really lost, I found the best place to get directions is the local pizza place that deliverys, or even a fire station. In theory they both should have a good grasp of the local roads.
