or continue, i guess. the stores getting busier. the lines are longer. the phone's...ringier. all of which means we'll get to you when we can. i answered the phone a couple days ago and talked to a guy who had been trying to get connected to the music department.

SC: ive been on hold ten or twelve minutes. maybe i should speak to the store manager.
me: oh, i do apologize about that sir. they're pretty busy in music right now, but i maybe i can help you.
SC:...
me: or did you want to talk to a manager?
SC: i want to be transferred to music. i dont know whats going to happen. i dont like waiting on the phone, not knowing whats happening. i dont like not knowing.
me: um, okay. theyre busy back there, so what can i help you with?
SC: i want to be transferred to music! but i dont want to be on hold! how do i know theyre going to pick up?
me: i dont know. theyre busy back there. thats why im saying I will help you.
SC: :click:
me: well fine. if youre going to be an asshole about it fuck you.

So he wants the magic phone fairy to magically transfer him to the relevant phone without being put on hold, isn't that called dialling a direct number?

When will SCs realise that there are only a few stores that actually have an employee dedicated to answering phones? In most stores, it's whichever employee happens to be available in between doing everything else who will answer the phone.

If it's that important, why not just come in to the store in person? Otherwise, have patience!
