Had a similar customer ask an equally stupid question of my co-worker today.

He answered the phone and answered this guys questions. He hung up and turned to and said that guy was an idiot he just asked if we were open today. I told him that he should have said no we just like answering the phone not dealing with people in person.

Hopefully we will see tales of these people in the Darwin Awards email that I get.
Am I sad because I am looking forward to the day when the people I will be dealing with will no longer be able to talk back?

A gallon is 128 ounces, 16 ounces in a pound, and half a pound to the dollar. How many pounds for a pound of diesel?

That reminds me to the Family Guy rerun I just saw last night. "What color is those red firetrucks?" He must be retarded as Peter Griffin.

128 fluid ounces? Actual ounces in weight would depend on the density of the fuel...

Pretty sure that was a joke, and not meant for in-depth analysis.

              here's a good one.

Question: What weighs more. A pound of bread or a pound of gold.

              Answer: A pound of bread.

But wait you say! They both weigh a pound. However, much like a bakers dozen, a bakers pound weighs slightly more than a standard pound.

But since you didn't designate using the measurements specific of the respective industries, we have to assume the standard usage of the word "pound" in relation to wieght. Therefore, they are of equal wieght.

I should note that gold is measured in Troy ounces and Troy pounds, which are made of 12 Troy ounces. A Troy pound of gold comes out to about .8 of a standard pound, if I did my calculation correctly. No guarentees.

If it's water, a gallon does indeed weigh 128 ounces. But since gasoline floats on top of water, it would be safe to assume it's less dense than water, and would weigh a bit less. But then we have to consider the weight of the container, and all this isn't even getting into the mass of anything...
