so here is a look at my fun times taking bookings on the phone last week
i worked right through from saturday til saturday 6-6 every day (i usually do this coming up to christmas as the place closes down for three weeks holidays and i need the money to tie me over)
Me: good morning (MY COMPANY), how can i help you?
SC1: yes i'd like to know what time the ballet starts tonight
Me: 8 o'clock
SC1: Yes the ticket says that but what time does the support act finish and the actual ballet performance start?
Me: its a ballet, there is no support act
SC1: oh...well what time do the previews finish?
SC2: i'd like to book 2 tickets to the 2pm matinee of Santa's Christmas Show on Sunday
Me: That will be $40 altogether
SC2: and what time does that start?
and finally - on friday afternoon, at 4.30pm, i thought i would give myself an early finish- seeing as i had been working 6-6days since saturday and still had another shift to go the next day, on top of following my boss around all of her christmas parties every night so that i could stay on top of business and networking while she got drunk. Just as i was reaching for the light switch the phone started ringing so i (and this i can only blame myself for) headed back to the phone to answer it
SC3: Can i get four tickets to see (BAND NAME) on Monday night please?
Me: Ok, are any of those concession tickets or are they all adults?
SC3: Well, two are adults, how much are they?
Me: $36 each, so $72 altogether
SC4: And two complementaries?
Me: Ok so thats the four tickets
SC4: Yes. how much are complementary tickets
Me: they're complementary
SC4: Yes, and how much are they
Me: They're free
SC4: ooh thats nice isn't it
head straight to jail - do not pass go - do not collect $200
just two more weeks and work will be finished for the year
