  • do you think I would have looked like a SC???

OK last night my bf and I walked into a KFC and ordered a meal...the girl that served us was very nice, and very quiet...we asked for a few changes to the meal (2 potato and gravies instead of 1 and a coleslaw as we both hate it!) she was polite and said that was ok...no problems...she asked if we wanted hot'n'spicy or original we asked for half half...she did it no worries...then came the drinks....now when my bf got his he noticed that it tased a like soda water...so he told her that the flavouring was going on the mountain due, and that he was just letting her know so that it could be changed...he didn't want another drink...she asked if he did and he said no...but here's where I think we got SCy....I think she didn't hear us...and she thought she had given him the WRONG drink...and she kept saying give me the drink I'll change it...I said no no no don't worry...and my bf repeatd he was only letting her know the flavouring was going....she kept saying "it was my mistake" and kept telling us to give the drink back and she'll change it...I said really it's no problem it's ok but thank you...she then just walked over and got him a new drink...and then came back and took him...I was like ...ok....she didn't look pissed but she sort of walked off a bit TOO ubruptly..anyways I kept saying thank you and sorry...and she said "no it was my mistake I'm sorry"...I think I should have just let her change the drink....she was nice...I really didn't want to cause problems....so could I have been seen as a SC????

I have said it before in CS.com, and I will say it again....if something is wrong with your meal, please, let the staff know AND let them fix it. In this case, it was that the Mt. Dew wasn't quite Mt. Dew. At many of my regular haunts, I am oftentimes the one that lets them know that the Sprite flavoring is out, as I drink it regularly and I HATE plain soda water.

I know people are trying to be polite when they insist they don't want a new drink/meal/whatever, but if there is something wrong with your meal, I as a server/bartender always want to make it right. (At least, for the polite and nice people. The asshat SC's can go take a flying leap.) I have never worked fast food, but I imagine that this is what the young lady that helped you out was trying to do.

No, you weren't an SC per se, but if you point out a problem with your meal, do so with the understanding that (hopefully) the staff will fix it. To point it out and then not want it fixed....well, it gets our wires crossed.

"no don't bother" "no its okay really" "it's no problem"

I'm not seeing the SC in this kind of behaviour.

no no it was the fact that she thought she had got the drink wrong..as in the wrong flavour and thats why she wanted to change it...she didn't hear my bf say that it was running out....but yeah....I relised I should have just let it go...I was pleased she wanted to help....

Not an SC in the slightest. You let them know there was a problem, and it's not your fault she didn't understand what you were saying. Especially since you told her repeatedly you didn't want a replacement drink.
