  • Excuse me sir, your pants are on fire.

After the recent car wash price rise at work, we've had several SCs who are not happy. These two tried to lie to me to get me to give them a discount.

One claimed "If the price doesn't go back down, I'm never coming here again!" (and was seen on site an hour later, also the next day).

Another claimed that BP's carwash is $6 "for the deluxe wash". I happened to drop by BP today, and found their price is $10 for our $6 wash, $14 for our $9 wash and $16 for our $10 wash.

Another related one is the guy who buys a single cigar every day. And every day he complains that we charge $2 more than everywhere else. I'm this close to asking him why he insists on giving us an extra $2 a day.

I had a similar thing at a restaurant where I worked. This one guy kept coming back again and again, but everytime he complained about the food, management was always make sure you keep him happy. So right before I left I got stuck with him on a very busy lunch with a trainee waitress. He pulled me over to complain about the food and I snapped. I asked him why he kept coming back if we were not meeting his specifications. He didn't have a reply so I said maybe it was time he found somewhere else to go that will meet his demands. It didn't work, I found out just before I left the country that he came back and was his usual self. Goddamn some people just have bugs up their arse and insist on taking everything out on the people trying to serve them.
Am I sad because I am looking forward to the day when the people I will be dealing with will no longer be able to talk back?

I'd be willing to bet that no one else will sell to him because he's using the cigars for something other than their intended purpose.

In Australia. (But AU$6 is cheap for a car wash around here too)

Are these the automatic carwashes where you just drive in and park while the machine goes "GRRRRRRR" and "WWWHHHHHHOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHH" and dribbles some pretty colored bubbles on your car and then blow dries it with a big "CHUGACHUGACHUGABLLLLAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH" sound. Cause we've got those here and they run about 7 or 8 bucks for the delux I think, and the one we go to knocks off 10 cents a gallon on the gas if you get a wash at the same time.

And as far as the cigar goes, most C-Stores could care less if people are buying the cigar to turn into a blunt, and if they are charging 2 bucks more then all the other stores then the dude is using the wrong kind of cigar. The funniest thing I ever saw though was a guy bought a philly blunt (the kind you would use for weed/to make a blunt) and he cut it open and dumped the tobacco out at the trash can right outside the C-Store (busy 7-11 on a heavily traveled road). I was almost laughing myself silly thinking that what if a cop happened to be in his own vehicle at the time watching this. He would just call it in and they would wait for senior assclown to start toking up before hitting the cherries.

Dave, the Stargate smiley scene in your avatar is great. But the bong-smoking smiley? About made me spit out my spaghetti lunch! I LOVE IT!

Funny...the places here work the opposite. If you fill up your tank, the prices on the car washes are discounted.

Same at my work, buying $20 fuel gets you $1 off the wash.

Go back down? Perhaps he was confusing the car wash with the roller-coaster ride that is fuel pricing!

I think that he followed through on his threat to go elswhere and discovered that we're still the cheapest in that part of town.

I remember once asking a lady "Why do you continue shopping here then?" after I heard her griping about how bad things always were at Publix, and how they never had fresh milk, and the eggs were always broken, and how the managers were unfriendly to her.

Well, the last part of managers being unfriendly, would you really expect them to be friendly to you if all you did was come in and complain to get free stuff?
