  • A customer made me sick!!

I'm still reeling from this one customer today. He came in, wanting a book with a combination of things. Unfortunately, all I could recommend was a bunch of books (one was Pocket Ref) but every time he got near, his breath made me sick to my stomach.

Every time he talked, I could smell his breath. It was like.....I can only imagine what a spittoon smells like after a few weeks. It was THAT BAD. I almost heaved right there a couple of times. And it didn't help that he was insistent that there was an "one-all" book for the info he wanted at his fingertips (Almanacs weren't taking him in, hence why I also recommended the Pocket Ref).

I managed to buck pass him to another co-worker, while I went into the back and coughed my brains out.

Bad breath is the worst. And why is it that people with the most foul, sickening breath are the ones who insist on standing the closest to you?! It's like they know and want to torture you! Sadists, all of them!

And of course, you would be in the wrong to whip out a breath spray and spritz it into their gabbing mouth...

That book belongs one everyone's bookshelf!

You need to carry some breath spray... spray some in their mouths when they are yammering away about whatever unimportant thing they are demanding.

My manager at Kroger had breath that ALWAYS smelled of sour milk. One customer even asked me -very seriously; he was pretty concerned- if I thought the guy had been drinking because his breath smelled awful.

I used to work with a woman who had chronic halitosis (bad breath) resulting from a minor health problem. She was nice as could be, and great fun to work with, but you could definitely smell her bad breath odor if you was close to her for any length of time. I made the mistake of sitting right next to her at the break room table one evening. That bad breath smell lingered strong enough that I quickly lost my appetite for lunch. After that, I had to make sure to sit across the table or at least a seat away. I felt bad about being that particular, but it really did make me nauseous.
