  • If It's In the Ad Then We Carry It

Yesterday, a customer wanted some soy chips and insisted that we had them since they were in the ad. I spent a while trying to find the soy chips without success and I even asked a few employees about the soy chips. Eventually, the customer decided to give up. She did tell me that she appreciated me helping her, though.

Ok, so someone wanted to find an item that was in an advert for your store. I too would have asked someone to help me find the unfindable item. And like her I would have given up and thanked the person who helped me for thier assistance.

I never lost my faith in humanity. Can't lose what you never had right?

The customer originally told me that she wasn't leaving until she got her soy chips. She even said that we have them since they were in the ad so I spent my time searching for an item we were out of since she originally refused to believe that we were out of the item.

That always sucks. I have a similar problem at work- people will ask me if *movie* is out for rent yet as they see the backer cards on the wall. My response is usually something like, "Yes, it's out AND it's out." Some people get it right away- others just give me a dim, confused look.

LOL! I think her stories are more to the point than anything. I'm a bit of a rambler myself, although to be fair most of my posts have complicated backstories to them, usually about insurance and whatnot. (See what I mean about being longwinded? )

as being the sucky part, since I think we all can agree that people who won't take "Sorry, we're sold out" as an answer and refuse to leave (as if that's going to make soy chips magically appear out of PurpleCat's bum!) are lame and annoying. I get plenty of losers like that myself and it drives me batty.

BTW, I love your screen name, Biscuit! It's so cute!
