Tonight I got my first not so sucky but very much scammers at my job I have now had for a month at a spa and resort in Australia. Well first they complained about the food taking too long to get out to them. It was an extremely busy Friday night and mains were taking about 30 to 40 minutes to come out. Fine the manager, who is great, said that he will comp half their meal because they were warned about this and appear to be trying to scam us.
Well once they got their meal it was clearly confirmed that they were trying to scam us because apparently the guys salmon was raw and after a few bites he went and threw up and they now claimed that he had food poisoning. The manager talked to them and stated that the salmon was cooked correctly and that it was highly unlikely that it has caused him food poisoning after having been in his stomach no more than a few minutes (fyi most food poisoning happens about 1 to 2 hours after ingesting the food as your body needs time to process what has been eaten and to establish that it is bad, I know this is true because it happened to me when I got food poisoning). The manager also pointed out that salmon can be eaten raw and that if they had ever had salmon sushi it is in fact raw and that is why he did not believe that the guy was sick from the salmon.
So you would think that is the end of it. No, of course not they are staying in the hotel there are other ways to get free things out of us. Next came the spa, apparently it was not working properly. When they checked it, it was in fact not working correctly, only one problem though the spas are checked every tie someone leaves that room to avoid problems as these rooms are expensive so it is more than likely they did not fill the tub up correctly (you need to have it above the jets otherwise you blow the compressor or something like that) they then tried to use it and broke it. So they get moved to a new room with a working spa.
Over now. No you are incorrect, they then complained about the complimentary strawberries because they said they looked as if they were growing mould, yet they had eaten half of them already. We know this was another scam by the fact that they asked if we placed icing sugar on top or mix it around (we place some on top to make it look nicer, anyone who has come into contact with strawberries knows that they contain moisture and that after a while the icing sugar would go into a paste like form), this clearly indicated to us that they knew all along that it was icing sugar but still complained that they thought they were mouldy.
They are apparently staying at the hotel until Monday. I am not back at work until Monday so I will now have to wait to see if I hear anymore to update you.
