Me and my team are customer service reps that get calls from various health care providers and give them the status of a claim (if the claim was paid, pending review or denied), and when they want to ask further questions about it, we transfer them to the claims department. My co-worker T____ sits next to me and that day she got a real basket case of a sucky provider (SP). This SP accused my co-worker of laughing at her and not listening to her during the course of the call, which was not the case. T______ even had to get me to tell the SP that she wasn't laughing at all and neither was anybody else in the room. On top of that, when T______ told the SP that the claim was denied because of XYZ reason, the SP screamed at T and called her a liar, when the screen clearly stated that the claim was denied. Yep, even in the health care world you have not only SC's but SP's too.

I remember calls like that all too well when I was in the insurance processing department at work. I did not have to deal with customers, but I had to deal with agents, which at times was just as bad. They lie like customers, they whine like customers, they get all pissy when they don't get their way like customers....
Please, someone ask me if I miss that department...."500 bucks, that's almost a million!"
