Lucky us, a complaint comes in through the online thing. The gist of the message was "I can't believe that my food was made by Ahanix, some drug-abusing kid. he's got thick veins, needle scars on his arm, and was acting strange"

The veins: I got that from my dad. I'm all skin and bones (5' 11", 132lbs), and I inherited thick veins.
The "needle scars": Every Tuesday and Thursday.
The acting strange: I get hyper from the adrenaline during a rush. Sue me.

If I was someone in corporate, I would make the customer feel like dirt. This is what my response would be;

As would I. However, knowing that corporate suits undergo a reality-ectomy when they accept their job in the home office, it would not surprise me if they suggested the OP go take a drug test.

I have had people complain about the same thing with me, I donate plasma twice a week, but only my right arm had thick veins. Every time I try to use my left arm they go through the vein and cause a giant bruise. I had a boss at an old job tell the store manager that I was on drugs because she saw the scares from donating and the bruise from a screw up and after that I had stopped wearing short sleeve shirts to work. The former boss only forgot to point out that the weather also went from mid- 50's to snowing every day as a factor to the change in the length of my sleeve.

I ended up volunteering to take a drug test, but only if the former boss would take one too. Mine came back clean hers didn't lol

I didn't even need the link. I donated twice a week for tw years before a stupid paperwork error got be booted. Trackmarks are certainly not the same as the one big scar dip in my arm.

I donate when I can...but no one really picks on me about the donation marks... much. They'll tease a little just for fun, but only when it's obviously in jest. (Besides we have regular drug tests here anyway).

that's one thing i do miss about virginia... the local mall had a permenant donation center there, open 3 times a week, so i always had a chance to give them some blood. and sometimes they had freebies like little squisies or tshirts...once they even had a car raffle.

but... heck, i'd have given without those gifts anyway... it just feels good knowing that you're helping others...
and it's always fun to try to race other people in filling the bag. on a good day mine fills in 5 minutes, especially if i've been working out

I used to donate blood when I got the chance--they always loved me, I'm O-. Too bad they changed all the rules because of the mad cow scare, I break one of the obscure 'if you were in this specific place during this specific year' rules and can't donate anymore. Even if it happens to be because I lived there for one month because I was born there.

Back on topic, I really hope you don't get in any trouble because of donating. That'd be really stupid.

First, good on all of you who donate plasma and/or blood.

Personally, I can't. I'm deathly afraid of needles. Often the nurses say, "Oh, it doesn't hurt." And I agree, it doesn't hurt at all. It's the needle the scares me. I'm even shaking right now typing this.
