Anyone that has children has watched "Curious George". Just the other day, after seeing the grocery store episode for the umpteenth time, it occurred to my wife and I that one of the characters is exactly like SC's in these stores.
In this episode, George tries to get extra money to buy a toy he wanted. Unbeknownst to the owner of the store, George helps out customers all day long. In one scene, he helps a lady get a package of cherrycicles. The customer that stood out most was the man who wanted only the freshest bananas to make his mother a banana creme pie. So, George eats literally the entire supply until this man is satisfied that he has the freshest bananas available. Later on, he comes to a toilet paper display, stacked like a pyramid. This irritating man has George get him a package from the very bottom, but has George go layer by layer, saying, "No, not that one, the one under that. No, no, the one under that one" and so on. In the midst of it, the pyramid falls down after this man leaves.
It was at this point that my wife and I said, "He's behaving exactly the way problematic customers do around here." I don't know about anyone else, but it seems like children may think behavior like this is OK. But, I'm sure PBS did not intend for it to be that way.
