Alot of it had to do with the fact that V from the original tail got wind of this, and when she found out the customer wanted to purchase a sofa, she went "OH HELL NAW" as did everyone else who had dealt with her the last time.

The only ones backing her were the ones that didn't have to deal with her. She was the one that sent out the mail after I had sent it to her.

Along with the email I said "You either lose the $20 in profit from this couch or you lose half a million a year in sales. Either way, I'm not bluffing."

WOW.

First of all, you are SUCH a saint for dealing with this woman and not punching her in the throat.
Second, I completely feel you on how frustrating it is when your company folds on policies. My company flip-flops so frickin much, it's like working for a salmon. The only reason I haven't quit is because the job market here is awful. You so get extra points on standing up for yourself. You're providing an excellent example for all retail/customer service drones who get treated like scum by both customer and employer.

In one post, Kus said that if he quit, another employee would also quit. Due to staffing problems, losing two employees could mean closing at least one store until they were able to get it staffed.

If they allow this woman to buy from us, if they demand I sell it to her, then I’m quitting with no notice.

The other thing? My coworker issued the same ultimatum – without me even telling her I had made one myself.

IF they sell it to her, our market collapses. See, we’re incredibly short staffed as it is – 4 people trying to keep 3 showrooms open 7 days a week. I’m the only one with reliable transportation so I work at all 3. By only leaving two people, we would have no choice but to close the stores until they could bring in someone else, and the turnover rate is so high because of shit that is pulled – just like this.

Not to mention I’m the highest rated person in the state.

That was it, alright: they have 4 people working 3 showrooms which is (barely) tolerable. 2 of those 4 said they'd quit if this lady got sold a sofa.
