Ok, another one, quickly.
Working in the cinema brought up a lot, so here's another.
One saturday night, we had quite a lot of people in, and as usual with that kind of thing, we get the annoying groups of kids, throwing a ball around the foyer, trying to scam their way into movies they clearly aren't allowed into.
So we get a group of kids come in (probably around 15) and one has his older brother there with him, so, anyway they buy their tickets go in to see whatever terrible movie it is they wanted.
After about half an hour, sure enough, we get complaints from the movie they're sitting in, a girl goes in forst to try and ask them to be quiet, now the problem is, at this place, as soon as they see you, they're silent, and you can't prove who did it, you can ask them to leave, but because they were silent when you came in, they won't go, so I had a trick I always played. The girl comes back, and she says nobody was making any noise, but some group of kids were staring at her.
I'm on the box at this moment, but there's two other guys, and it's a quiet spell, so I come out to see what's going on, because by this time we've had a customer come out and say that she did nothing.
I go in, and, instead of walking right into the room, I stand in the covered hallway leading into the room, and I hear kids talking to each other loudly, stuff being thrown around, and a handful of popcorn flies towards the screen, so now I have a rough idea what direction it came from, I walk in a little further, still not visible to the group of kids, and crouch behind the wall, looking right at them, in the dark they can't see me, but I can see about four faces lit up by mobile phones, busted.
I then stand up and they're silent, but it's too late, I come up and ask them to leave.
one kid who isn't very bright looks at me.
"F*** off I can do what I want"
"Really? I think it's time you all left"
They won't go, so again, it's down to getting the manager, luckily, the only one in is the General Manager, someone who could be a nice guy at times, but was often not helpful, except when it came to noisy customers.
"I'm going to get the manager (loud enough for the people close to them to hear this) and he'll get you out of here."
So I'm walking down the steps, and along the hall towards the door, when a half filled coke bottle flies past my head, followed by laughing, I look up, and they're staring at me. Well, I go outside and radio the manager, and after a minute, he comes down, pissed off. He walks in, and tells them, to leave and still they won't go. If the manager can't get them out, the police is the next move, and the manager made this clear to them but they still won't go. He leaves, I stay, and after about five minutes, a few of them start getting up, obviously not wanting to be spoken to by the cops, I think, so I go out to the foyer when they're all gone, and they're all sitting there, waiting for the police. The manager is standing near the exit doors, looking for the cops.
At this point they decide they haven't got the guts to stay, and start walking, but, I hear one of them mutter "I dare you to punch him" and before I know it one of these guys passes the manager, turns and hits him straight in the face, then runs, the manager takes off after him, the rest of this group laughing and standing around. I spot one of our supervisors, he's finished his shift, he is going to a wedding reception wearing his kilt (we're in scotland) and I shout him over.
I explain what's happened and he takes off after them both, mostly worried about what the manager might do. So, by this time, the rest of this group have left in a different direction. After about five minutes, the manager and supervisor come in hauling this guy by the arms into a secure room in the staff area, The supervisor carrying a shoe this guy lost while running. I'd like to think they gave him a good beating in that room, but they just waited for the police, who then also hauled him out.
So we've got this guy on file, he's not allowed in, and neither are his friends, but a month later this guy comes back, and thinks he's getting in, unfortunately it's the dumbest manager in the hostory of that company working that night, I explain he's not allowed in, he won't have it, so I radio the manager down, show him the student ID card and the guys name, and photo on a piece of paper. He looks at this, then goes to speak to the guy, two minutes later telling me to put the tickets through. I refuse, so he sells them the tickets because they said they're going to behave....idiot
