  • How freakin insensitive

A little backround before I get to the story itself....

A little over a week ago after I got off my shift I had an hour to kill so I decided to walk over to the Wallyworld across the street to pick up a few things before a store meeting. As I was crossing I got to the middle intersection when suddenly my right foot caught onto some kind of metal wire that was sticking out of the ground which suddenly sent me flying into the air. The next thing I knew was that I landed on my left shoulder very hard and all I could do for the next few minutes was scream loudly. Thankfully an off duty cop happened to have passed by. The next thing I knew was that I was in the ER room. Thankfully I only ended up with a bruised AC on my left shoulder that would leave me in a sling. Thankfully as I'm typing this I am already out of the sling tho my left arm still haven't fully gained back all of its strength it is getting there on a daily basis.

    Anyways to my story....

Last Thursday I was working my shift as best as I could as I still had the sling on. I was busy helping customers when a guy who I nicknamed Mr. Jerk walked in. I greeted him and so on when he suddenly bursted out a comment that really pissed me off...

Mr. Jerk: At least my arm isn't hurt like yours.

At that point I literarly walked away and went to the back. It was either that or me really telling him off. I finally went out after a moment only to have Mr. Jerk wanting me to help him AFTER he made that nasty comment. I really had to restrain myself from telling him off. What's funny is that he was trying to find a wired router instead of a wireless one since "one of my roommates is sensitive to wireless signals." I wonder if Mr. Jerk makes insensitive comments like that to his roommate like he did to me a few moments ago.

I needed to vent this out badly. Its been one of those things that has been bottled up in me a bit since it happened. I feel better now.

Ahh, one of those whose brain hurts just trying to work. Mr. Jerk was probably there because Mr. Roommate needed his dumb ass out of the room.
I've lost my mind ages ago. If you find it, please hide it.

      How horrible!

I am glad you're feeling better, from BOTH your injuries.

Couldn't a coworker take care of him, or was he specifically wanting your injured-arm self to be his personal slave?

Thanks everyone. I swear Mr. Jerk wanted me to be his personal slave. Oh well I figure that turn about is fair play. I figure that someday he'll get injured or something. Then someone will make an insensitive comment like he did to me. Let's see how he likes having it thrown back at him indeed.
