The water buckets and watering cans on the forecourt are filled up at the start of every shift. For some reason, Monday was a bad day for idiots spilling petrol on the side of their cars and pouring water on there to wash it off. Right before a new shift was due to start, I watched one woman walk around the forecourt, look at all the watering cans and buckets, stare directly at the water tap, then pull off a length of paper towel and use that to wipe the spill off the car.
When she came into the store, she threw the money at me and yelled "IT WOULD BE NICE IF THERE WAS WATER IN YOUR BUCKETS!"
I tried to apologise and give the reason the water had run out (busier than usual, more spills than usual for some unknown reason) but she wouldn't hear any of it.
I should mention at this point that it was just me and the manager at the time, and the manager had spent all morning on the phone, mostly on incoming calls. The first thing I did when the afternoon guy arrived (at which time I was due to be there for another 4 hours before the late afternoon shift arrived) was go and fill the water buckets.
And it happened again (with a different SC) as I was leaving.
